Happy Birthday Kids First!

As some of you will know, June 2009 is our tenth birthday month. During June back in 1999, our small but very effective charity was born at Woolworths plc. Now, ten years on and without the support of the Woolworths business we are still here and ready to celebrate what we have achieved over the past decade and look forward to the next ten years as Kids First Trust!

To celebrate our birthday, we have an exciting announcement to make. Please read on to find out what we will be getting up to:

Playground Partnerships 2009/10

We are delighted to announce that although we are yet to replace the gap in funding left by the collapse of Woolworths it is 'business as usual' at Kids First. Our trustees have released enough funds to enable us to be able to run the Playground Partnerships scheme at a reduced level.

This is fantastic news and means that we are still doing what we set out to do by giving children the opportunity to benefit from the experience of taking part in the scheme with the added incentive of winning some money for their school. In 2008 the scheme granted over £200, 000 and benefitted in the region of 42, 000 primary school children so it is fantastic news for all! Look out for more details soon.
