Formerly Woolworths Kids First, the Charity was founded in June 1999, to enable Woolworths plc to support community-based projects to benefit children. The Charity played an important role in enabling Woolworths to be at the heart of the local communities that it served.

The Charity supplemented the central contribution by Woolworths through raising funds from individuals, campaign drives and in expanding our partnerships to link with other corporate sponsors such as Nintendo, Universal, Orange and Hasbro. The collapse of the Woolworths retail business in November 2008 led the Charity to an exciting new phase of development.

Kids First Trust is a fully independent charity passionate about changing children's lives for the better through programmes, funding and research.

Since 1999 we have helped thousands of children develop core skills and competencies as well as providing vital funding support for a variety of needs. We intend to keep putting Kids First.

Over the last 9 years we have donated millions of pounds to a variety of children's causes around the UK. Sometimes we work in partnership with other like-minded charities in order to raise awareness and funding for vital work.

We also run Playground Partnerships, our flagship programme.
